Winner of International Competition: Arts Future Classroom!!
My winning proposal to Arts Future Classroom, (2015), was to teach Drawing Museum Selfies, on iPads and mobile devices, using live-streaming with Periscope. Students share their work on Twitter and are evaluated with Emojis. A deeply inclusive class that defies traditional learning and language barriers. This is ideal for people using mobile technology & social media for creative classrooms today. The competition submission images were ready to share on Instagram.
I have experience in teaching age 5-14 year olds as a Youth Programs Educator at Minneapolis Institute of Arts, (Mia), from 2005-2012. I created lesson plans and executed Art teaching activities, managed assistants, and taught art programs to groups of 20 children several times a week. I was the Teacher for Art in the Park, Festival Days, Special Events and Classroom Education. Poor to this museum experience, I was employed as an Art Director in a Summer Camp, Art teacher in a geriatric home, working with elderly, and a volunteer art teacher with at-risk youth. Every opportunity is perfect for learning and sharing new ideas on art, culture and identity.
