The first image I drew with #DrawArt was Reclining Odalisque (Harmony in Red), Henri Matisse, 1927 at @MetMuseum. It became the subject of my first Solo Exhibit at SooLocal (SooVac), Minneapolis, 2013. At the Opening Performance, I posed at the painted odalisque in the gallery window for viewers live & online to draw and tweet their #sexymatisse drawings. Meanwhile to shift the gaze, I drew myself on my iPad while it projected out on the street.
This past Spring. I was invited by Don Undeen, former Founding Director of Met Digital Media Lab, to share my work. I digitally animated how the Met Museum inspires me. I also showed them how easy it was to use a mobile device by inviting them to join me in drawing live in the galleries. Then in the Summer, I donated the first drawing of the Matisse as a Digital LED Lightbox to the MCAD Christie's Auction. Dr. Charlotte Frost, from the School of New Media, City University, Hong Kong joined me for the gala event. She was witness to a bidding-war over new technology!.
