I'm honored to begin 2018 as the first Artist in Residence at the Minneapolis Athenaeum. It's the oldest library and nonprofit in Minneapolis. The rare book collection, housed in the downtown Hennepin County Library, includes the Spencer Natural History Collection, including botanical books.
Minneapolis Athenaeum's wish is for me to bring relevance to the Spencer Collection using creative technology, as well as to work with the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, and to create a final book for their collection.
My role as Artist and recipient of 2017 Minnesota Women in Technology award, founder of Better World Museum, and a member of MASS Action, my goal is to address this collection with a DECOLONIZATION STRATEGY.
